Built-in compensators make it easy to adjust for deviation, while the scientifically matched sapphire jewel and hardened steel pivot dial movement ensure precision and accuracy. The compass is also equipped with powerful DirectiveForce magnets for fast heading lock-on, as well as a movable sun shield for added convenience.

For replacement parts, the light assembly options include 12 Volt (EX-0005-2) and 6 Volt (EX-0099-2), while thumbscrews (SH-0077XSP) and brackets (EX-0004XSP) are also available. It's important to note that all compasses come standard with 12 volt lighting, though a 24 volt lighting option is available.
